Welcome to Bude Library of Things (Bude LoT), a community-driven initiative committed to helping our community save space, reduce waste, and making quality equipment accessible to everyone. By offering a sustainable alternative to ownership, we aim to lower emissions related to consumption and waste while building a stronger, more resilient community.

Did you know the average UK household owns 25 electronic devices, with around 20% sitting unused, according to BusinessWaste.co.uk. By borrowing instead of buying, you can help reduce our community’s waste, particularly the growing problem of electronic waste (E-waste). UK households generate 400,000 tonnes of E-waste each year, but only 31.2% of it is recycled. This unsustainable trend amounts to 9kg of E-waste per person, with 6.19kg ending up in landfills!

Bude LoT operates under the umbrella of Resilient Bude and is run by the Bude Climate Partnership. We work in close collaboration with our site hosts and partners at the Berries Community Café, managed by Neetside. Our project is funded by the National Lottery, but we also rely on equipment donations and sponsorships from local businesses and our wonderful community.
